Our Story
The Full Story
We lived just a few minutes away; But it took us 18 years to find each other! Hannah lived in St. Ann, Missouri, just 7 minutes away from myself (Tim), who lived in Bridgeton, Missouri. The summer of 2018 is when our lives changed for the better when we met through mutual friends that I played summer baseball with! After being very nervous to hang out with Hannah one-on-one and postponing what would've been our "First Date", I finally had the courage to meet, just us two on June 4, 2018! I had an entire evening planned, which included mini golf and a nice dinner....just to find out mini golf was closed. We altered the plans to go bowling, which to my surprise, Hannah is a VERY good bowler and beat me a couple times. Almost everywhere was closed for dinner, so once again, I altered the plans and took her to the only spot that was nearby and open. That happened to be none other then a Wendy's inside of a gas station! Hannah and I still reminisce about that night as it was full of laughs, smiles and embarrassing moments!
After a couple dates later, I got nervous when I received a message from Hannah stating her dad wanted me to join them for breakfast at IHOP and have a conversation. Nerve-racking to say the least, but it went great! Hannah and I officially started dating on June 17, 2018, just a couple weeks before I left for school at Robert Morris University in Chicago, IL. We talked about how we were going to make long distance work as Hannah would still be in St. Louis at Maryville University. There was never a doubt, we would find a way to make it work! Over the course of the next four years, Hannah was a star student at Maryville University in the Physical Therapy program and swam for the university. Hannah and I took numerous trips back and fourth from St. Louis to Chicago on the Amtrak (which often times experienced multiple delays)! At the end of freshmen year, I made the decision to transferred to Westminster college located in Fulton, Missouri where I played football while getting my Real Estate license and marketing degree.
Fast forward to 2023.... Hannah and I had a vacation booked at one of our favorite vacation destinations, Las Vegas! I had big plans for our third night there as I had been planning my proposal for months! July 18, 2023, the day of the proposal, we were relaxing by the Bellagio pool where we were staying and enjoying the day. It was then time to get ready for Dinner at "Prime," the steakhouse at the Bellagio. I made sure we reserved a table on the patio which sits out on the famous Bellagio fountains. The night went perfect! Great food, great weather, great wine and great conversation with the table next to us! I then received the message I had been waiting for from the magician I hired to make the ring appear during a table-side magic act! I made up an excuse to leave the table and met with the magician in the restaurant lobby, and we did a quick rehearsal of the final trick. The moment arrived! I saw him walking our way, and my heart was pounding. We were so focused on watching the magic show, we didn't even realize how many people came out on the patio to watch! It was a perfect setting: dusk, fountains going off behind the magician, light music being played. For the final trick, he wrapped my hand with a cloth, told Hannah to think of something she'd want as a gift from myself, and then he whipped the cloth off and the ring-box was sitting in my hand! Everyone started clapping and cheering, and I dropped on a knee to ask Hannah to marry me and she said YES!
